Connecting a Domain in Pulse REI CRM

Here we discuss the step-by-step instructions on how to connect a custom domain in Pulse REI CRM for use with funnels, websites, email, and branding.

Connecting your domain ensures:

  • A professional and branded experience for your leads

  • Improved email and SMS deliverability

  • Proper system functionality for websites and funnels

Prerequisites

Before starting, ensure the following:

  • You have access to your Pulse REI CRM account

  • You have login access to your domain provider (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare)

  • You have already purchased a domain

  • You have access to your DNS settings (this is where records will be added)

Step 1: Access Domain Settings

  1. Log in to your Pulse REI CRM account

  2. Navigate to:
    Settings → Domains

  3. Click “Connect a Domain”

Step 2: Choose Domain Use Case

Select what you want your domain to be used for:

  • Funnel (landing pages)

  • Website

  • Blog

  • Webinar

  • Email sending domain

💡 Why this matters:
This ensures your domain is correctly routed and used for the right purpose inside the system.

Step 3: Enter Your Domain

  1. Enter your domain:

    • Root domain (e.g., yourdomain.com) OR

    • Subdomain (e.g., app.yourdomain.com)

  2. Click Continue

💡 Best Practice:
Use a
subdomain (e.g., app. or crm.) to avoid affecting your main website.

Step 4: Connect Your Domain

✅ Option A: Automatic Setup (Recommended)

Use this if your domain provider supports automatic connection.

Supported providers include:

  • GoDaddy

  • Google Domains

  • Cloudflare

Steps:

  1. Click Authorize

  2. Log in to your domain provider

  3. Approve access

  4. The system will automatically add required DNS records

💡 Why this is recommended:
This avoids manual errors and ensures correct DNS configuration.

⚙️ Option B: Manual Setup

Use this if your provider does not support automatic connection.

Steps:

  1. Click “Add Records Manually”

  2. Copy the DNS records shown:

    • A Record

    • CNAME Record

    • TXT Record (if applicable)

  3. Log in to your domain provider

  4. Go to DNS Settings

  5. Add each record exactly as provided

  6. Save changes

💡 Important:
Even a small typo (extra space, missing dot) can cause connection failure.

Step 5: DNS Propagation (Waiting Period)

After saving your DNS records:

  • Changes may take a few minutes up to 24 hours

  • This process is called DNS propagation

💡 Why this is needed:
DNS changes must update across global servers before your domain becomes active.

⚠️ Avoid making repeated changes during this time.

Step 6: Verify Domain Connection

  1. Return to Settings → Domains

  2. Click Verify

  3. Wait for confirmation

💡 If verification fails:

  • Wait longer (propagation may still be ongoing)

  • Recheck DNS entries

Step 7: Assign Domain

Once verified:

  1. Click the 3 dots (Options)

  2. Assign the domain to:

    • Funnel

    • Website

  3. Set as Default Domain if needed

Step 8: SSL Activation (HTTPS)

  • SSL is automatically generated

  • May take up to 24 hours

💡 Why this is important:

  • Enables secure browsing (https://)

  • Improves trust with visitors

  • Required for compliance and deliverability

Troubleshooting

If your domain is not connecting:

  • Double-check DNS entries (no typos)

  • Remove conflicting records

  • Ensure correct host values (@, www, etc.)

  • Turn OFF proxy (Cloudflare → set to DNS Only)

  • Wait longer for propagation

Best Practices

  • Use a subdomain for CRM usage

  • Always copy DNS values exactly

  • Avoid editing DNS multiple times during propagation

  • Use Incognito Mode when testing your domain

Expected Outcome

After successful setup:

  • Domain is fully connected

  • SSL is active

  • Funnels and websites are accessible

  • System is ready for use

Important Notes

  • A domain can only be connected to one sub-account at a time
