How to Create and Send an Addendum Agreement for e-Signatures
🔵 How to Create and Send an Addendum Agreement for e-Signatures
Here we cover how to update contract terms and generate an addendum agreement for a seller or disposition deal. It ensures the revised terms are mapped correctly, reviewed, and sent for e-signature.
Key Steps
1. Open the correct deal in Opportunities 0:18
Go to Opportunities and locate the active deal.
Confirm the deal is in the correct stage (the transcript example shows a deal currently in Dispo).
Verify you are editing the correct transaction before making any contract changes.
2. Navigate to the Acquisitions tab and open the Purchase Contract Engine 0:28
Click the Acquisitions tab for the deal.
Scroll to and open the Purchase Contract Engine.
Use this area to access the original contract details and prepare the addendum.
3. Update the addendum terms and conditions 0:48
Locate the Addendum Terms and Conditions section.
Enter the revised contract language that needs to change.
Examples of changes may include:
Title company update
Purchase price adjustment
Close of escrow terms
Make sure the new language is clear and specific to the change being made.
4. Save the updated addendum language 1:24
After entering the revised terms, confirm the information is correct.
In the transcript example, the title company details were updated to include:
Title company name
Address
Escrow officer
Save or update the contract engine so the addendum can be generated from the new terms.
5. Generate the addendum agreement 1:36
From the Agreement Generator, select Addendum Agreement.
This action creates the addendum document based on the updated terms.
Confirm the system generates the document successfully.
6. Wait for the document to appear in Contracts/Documents 2:07
The addendum will be sent to the Contracts tab under Documents and Contracts.
Allow about one minute for the document to populate.
Look for the document labeled Purchase Agreement Addendum.
7. Open and review the draft addendum 2:19
Click the addendum document once it appears.
Review the draft to confirm:
The updated clause is included
The original purchase agreement terms remain unchanged where appropriate
The seller information is mapped correctly
Verify the document is ready for signature.
8. Add recipients if needed and send the addendum 2:48
If additional signers are required, use the Add Recipients option.
Select recipients from the dropdown and confirm the signing order if applicable.
If no additional recipients are needed, proceed to send the document.
Use the e-signature workflow to distribute the addendum.
9. Confirm the addendum has been sent 3:11
Verify the addendum was successfully sent.
Check that the document status reflects the outgoing signature request.
Use the same process for both seller-side and dispo-side addendums.
Cautionary Notes
Do not generate the addendum before confirming the correct deal and stage are open.
Ensure the revised terms are accurate; errors in title company details, pricing, or escrow instructions can delay closing.
Allow time for the document to sync into the Contracts tab before attempting to open it.
Review the draft carefully to confirm the original agreement terms remain intact except for the intended changes.
If additional recipients are required, make sure they are added before sending, since changes after sending may require reissuing the document.
Tips for Efficiency
Keep a standard template of common addendum changes (title company, price, closing date) to speed up editing.
Double-check recipient roles before sending to avoid rework.
Use the mapped fields in the agreement generator to reduce manual entry errors.
Wait the full minute for the document to appear before refreshing repeatedly.
Apply the same workflow consistently for seller and dispo transactions to keep the process uniform.
