How to Delete Contacts in Bulk on your CRM
How to Delete Contacts in Bulk on your CRM
Objective
This video explains how to delete contacts in bulk from your CRM, including how to locate contacts from a specific import and select the entire list instead of deleting contacts one page at a time.
Key Steps
1. Go to Contacts
Open Contacts from the left-hand menu.
Before deleting, make sure you know which group or imported list of contacts you want to remove.
2. Locate the Imported List
Go to the Bulk Actions tab under Contacts.
Find the specific Import you want to remove.
Use the import details to identify the contacts associated with that upload.
3. Return to the Contact List
Go back to Smart Lists.
Display the contacts associated with the import/list you identified.
Confirm that the correct contacts are showing before proceeding.
4. Select All Contacts
Click the checkbox at the top of the contact list.
This initially selects only the contacts displayed on the current page.
Click Select all [number] at the top to select every contact in the list, not just the contacts on the first page.
5. Delete the Contacts
Once all contacts are selected, click Delete from the bulk action options.
Follow the confirmation prompts to complete the deletion.
Result:
All selected contacts from the list can be deleted in one bulk action instead of manually deleting them page by page.
Cautionary Notes
Double-check the list before clicking Delete. Make sure you are only selecting the contacts you intend to remove.
Clicking the main checkbox may initially select only the contacts on the current page. Make sure to click Select all [number] if you want to delete the entire list.
Bulk deletion can affect a large number of records at once, so verify the contact count before confirming.
Only delete contacts when you are certain they are no longer needed in the CRM.
