How to Pause AI Prospecting Campaigns (AI Prospector)
🟡 How to Pause AI Prospecting Campaigns (AI Prospector)
Here we cover how to temporarily pause outbound automation campaigns and, if needed, disable the AI lead manager so no automated responses are sent while you are away. It also covers how to safely restore everything when you return.
Key Steps
1. Open the Dashboard and Navigate to Automation 0:21
Start from the Dashboard, which serves as the main reference point.
Click Automation to access campaign controls.
This is where outbound campaign activity is managed.
2. Open Client Workflows 0:28
In the Automation area, click Client Workflows.
This section contains the workflows you have access to for managing outbound campaigns.
3. Locate the AI Prospector Sequence Folder 0:37
Open the AI Prospector Sequence folder.
This folder contains the campaigns built and currently running.
Use this area to manage all active outbound sequences.
4. Pause All Campaign Workflows 0:49
If you want to pause every campaign in the folder, select all workflows.
Click Draft to pause them.
This freezes the workflows without deleting them or changing the people already enrolled.
5. Confirm the Campaigns Are Frozen, Not Deleted 0:59
Drafting the workflows pauses the campaigns.
Existing contacts remain in the workflows.
Example: long-term follow-up sequences will keep their enrolled contacts, but no new automated steps will run while paused.
6. Resume Campaigns When You Return 1:22
When you are ready to restart automation, select all workflows again.
Click Publish all to reactivate them.
The campaigns will continue from where they left off.
7. Understand What Campaign Pausing Does 1:30
Pausing campaigns stops outbound automation.
It does not remove contacts or reset workflow progress.
This allows you to safely stop and restart outreach as needed.
8. Decide Whether to Pause the AI Lead Manager 1:38
If you also want to stop automated responses to inbound leads, you must disable the AI lead manager separately.
Note: turning off campaigns alone does not stop the AI lead manager from responding.
9. Go to Settings and Open Custom Values 2:13
Navigate to Settings.
Open Custom Values.
Find the custom value or trigger for AI lead manager on/off.
10. Edit the AI Lead Manager Setting 2:27
Click Edit on the AI lead manager setting.
Change the value to Off.
Click Update to save the change and disable AI responses.
11. Restore the AI Lead Manager if Needed 2:27
To turn the AI back on later, return to the same custom value.
Change the setting back to On and update it.
This re-enables automated responses to inbound replies.
12. Recommended Best Practice for Temporary Pauses 2:44
If you only need to pause outreach temporarily, it is usually best to turn off the campaigns only.
Leave the AI lead manager on so it can still respond to leads who reply later.
This helps avoid missed conversations and preserves engagement opportunities.
Cautionary Notes
Drafting workflows pauses them; it does not delete them. Existing contacts remain enrolled.
Turning off campaigns does not automatically disable the AI lead manager. If you want no automated replies, you must change the AI setting separately.
If a lead replies days after your original outreach, the AI may still respond unless the AI lead manager is turned off.
Be careful when selecting workflows so you do not pause the wrong campaigns.
Tips for Efficiency
Use select all when pausing or resuming multiple workflows to save time.
If you are only away briefly, pause campaigns and leave AI on to maintain response coverage.
When returning, verify the workflows are published again before expecting automation to resume.
Keep a quick note of which settings you changed so you can restore them accurately later.
