⚙️ How to Set Up Your Custom Values

Custom values are reusable pieces of information that auto-fill across your entire CRM. Set them once, use them everywhere.

What Are Custom Values?

Think of custom values like shortcuts. Instead of typing your phone number or company name over and over, you set it once and the system fills it in automatically wherever you need it. They also work as triggers for specific features like AI.

Example: You create a custom value called {{custom_values.company_phone}} and set it to +1 480 123 4567. Now every template, email, or text that uses {{custom_values.company_phone}} will automatically show your number.

How to Access Custom Values

Step 1: Click Settings in the left sidebar

Step 2: Click Custom Values

Your Pre-Built Custom Values

The REI Pulse CRM comes with custom values already set up for you (Depending on what version you are subscribed to, the list may vary). Here's what they do:

How to Use Custom Values

When you're writing a template, email, or text, insert the key inside double curly brackets.

Example: "Hi, this is {{custom_values.aif_authorized_person_name}} with {{custom_values.company_name}}. Call me back at {{custom_values.company_phone}}."

Becomes: "Hi, this is Rafael Cortez with Pulse Capital LLC. Call me back at +1 480 123 4567."

Special Custom Value: AI Lead Manager

The AI | Lead Manager (ON / OFF) custom value controls whether your AI assistant automatically responds to new leads.

Set to ON:

  • AI will respond to incoming texts when you or your team don't reply within 2 minutes

  • Great for after-hours coverage and fast response times

Set to OFF:

  • AI will not respond to any leads

  • All conversations require manual replies from you or your team

How to toggle it:

  1. Go to Settings > Custom Values

  2. Find "AI | Lead Manager (ON / OFF)"

  3. Change the value to ON or OFF

  4. Click Save

Pro Tips

  • Update these right away - Your templates are already using these values, so make sure the info is correct

  • Use folders to stay organized - Group related values together (Company, Phones, AI, etc.)

  • Use clear naming - Start with a category like "Phones |" or "AI |" so values are easy to find

Troubleshooting

Custom value not filling in? → Check your spelling and make sure you're using the exact key with double curly brackets

Value showing the brackets instead of the actual text? → Make sure the key matches exactly, including underscores

Updated a value but old info still showing? → The change applies to new messages only. Already-sent messages won't change.
