How to Stop All Texts to a List You Imported (Delete the Contacts, Not Just the Opportunities)
Problem
You imported a list into the AI Prospector. It is not working for you, so you deleted the leads from the AI Seller Prospector stage. But some of those leads are still getting texts, and usage charges keep showing up every day.
This happens because deleting an opportunity does not delete the contact. The contact is still attached to its messages and workflows, so the system can keep reaching out.
Who it's for
REI Pulse CRM customers who want to completely stop outreach to a list they imported, such as a list that is not getting results or a list imported by mistake.
Steps
Part 1: Decide if you really want to remove the list
Deleting a contact removes everything tied to it: the contact, its conversations, its opportunities, and any workflows or campaigns it is in.
If you might want these leads later, do not delete them. Text support first and we will help you decide.
Only want to pause outreach and keep the leads? Do not delete. Text support to pause.
Part 2: Find the import
Open Contacts from the left menu.
Click Bulk Actions. You will see a list of your past imports.
Find the import you want to remove. Use the date you imported it to pick the right one.
Click the three dots next to that import, then click Show Imported. This shows every contact from that import.
Part 3: Delete the contacts
Check the box at the top of the list. This selects only the contacts on the current page.
Click Select all with the full count, so every contact from the import is selected, not just the first page.
Check the count. It should match the number of contacts in that import.
Click Delete.
The system reminds you that deleting a contact also removes its conversations and opportunities. Confirm.
Part 4: Make sure it worked
Open the 3🟡 LEAD GEN pipeline and check the AI Prospector stage you imported into. The leads from that list should be gone.
Check Settings, then Billing, then Wallet & Transactions. New usage from that list should stop.
How the AI Prospector handles a list, so you know what to expect
The Prospector sequence is built to prospect a list for about three months.
Leads who never respond go through the full sequence and are then dropped automatically as no response.
Leads who respond leave the sequence and move to 🤖 AI Active Conversations in the Acquisitions pipeline, where your AI Lead Manager takes over.
Deleting only the opportunity does not stop any of this for the contact. Deleting the contact does.
Common mistakes
Deleting leads from the AI Seller Prospector stage and expecting texts to stop. That removes the opportunity only. The contact can still get messages.
Deleting leads one by one or campaign by campaign. Deleting the contacts from the import does it all at once.
Clicking the top checkbox and deleting, which removes only the first page. Always click Select all with the full count.
Picking the wrong import. Check the date and the count before you click Delete.
Deleting a list you might want later. Talk to support first.
Changing or turning off workflows to stop a list. Please do not edit the system's workflows. Delete the contacts, or text support to pause.
